This artwork is an exploration of the complexity and rawness of human emotions. I began by layering stain dye, creating a foundation of subtle, organic textures. These initial layers serve as a backdrop, allowing the piece to develop organically. Over time, I built up layers using sugar and paint, alternating between translucent and opaque applications. This layering process represents the intricate, often hidden layers of our emotions—how they are not always visible on the surface but emerge and shift over time.
Returning to the basics, I focused on expressing the essence of emotions without overcomplication. The flow of each brushstroke, the muted yet contrasting colors, and the interplay between smooth and rough textures mirror the simplicity and rawness of feeling.
